A cidade, que possui 24.581 habitantes, conta com uma popula\u00e7\u00e3o de 6.175 ind\u00edgenas, que historicamente realizavam o consumo e o extrativismo das ostras, que se transformou em cultivo.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"wall protected-content\">\n<div id=\"chunk-558fo\">\n<div class=\"mc-column content-text active-extra-styles \" data-block-type=\"unstyled\" data-block-weight=\"29\" data-block-id=\"5\">\n<p class=\" content-text__container \" data-track-category=\"Link no Texto\" data-track-links=\"\" data-mrf-recirculation=\"Mat\u00e9ria - Links no Texto\">A atividade ganhou destaque na s\u00e9rie &#8216;Territ\u00f3rio de Neg\u00f3cios&#8217;, exibida no\u00a0<strong>JPB2<\/strong>, da\u00a0<strong>TV Cabo Branco<\/strong>, em alus\u00e3o ao Dia dos Povos Ind\u00edgenas, celebrado ontem s\u00e1bado, 19 de abril.<\/p>\n<div id=\"chunk-d8k2r\">\n<div class=\"mc-column content-text active-extra-styles \" data-block-type=\"unstyled\" data-block-weight=\"63\" data-block-id=\"10\">\n<p class=\" content-text__container \" data-track-category=\"Link no Texto\" data-track-links=\"\" data-mrf-recirculation=\"Mat\u00e9ria - Links no Texto\">O cultivo das ostras realizado na Aldeia Jaragu\u00e1, na Terra Ind\u00edgena Monte-Mor, \u00e9 uma atividade passada de gera\u00e7\u00e3o para gera\u00e7\u00e3o. O que come\u00e7ou como um ato de subsist\u00eancia, apenas para servir de alimento para os pr\u00f3prios ind\u00edgenas, se tornou uma fonte de renda para a comunidade, que comercializa ostras at\u00e9 para fora do estado, em restaurantes das cidades de Recife e Natal.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"chunk-fahqn\">\n<div class=\"mc-column content-text active-extra-styles \" data-block-type=\"unstyled\" data-block-weight=\"45\" data-block-id=\"11\">\n<p class=\" content-text__container \" data-track-category=\"Link no Texto\" data-track-links=\"\" data-mrf-recirculation=\"Mat\u00e9ria - Links no Texto\">De acordo com ostreicultor conhecido como Major das Ostras, o cultivo de ostras no local n\u00e3o possui uma associa\u00e7\u00e3o pr\u00f3pria porque a maioria dos mergulhadores respons\u00e1veis pelo cultivo trabalham de modo independente. &#8220;Cada um tem uma parte aqui. Ent\u00e3o n\u00e3o \u00e9 apenas uma rela\u00e7\u00e3o de consumo, mas uma rela\u00e7\u00e3o que vem tamb\u00e9m trabalhando as pr\u00e1ticas tradicionais&#8221;, explica Cristina Potiguara, doutora em Antropologia.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"chunk-fbjeu\">\n<div class=\"mc-column content-text active-extra-styles \" data-block-type=\"unstyled\" data-block-weight=\"52\" data-block-id=\"15\">\n<p class=\" content-text__container \" data-track-category=\"Link no Texto\" data-track-links=\"\" data-mrf-recirculation=\"Mat\u00e9ria - Links no Texto\">Antes de serem servidas \u00e0 mesa, as ostras v\u00e3o para outros estados, onde crescem por mais seis meses e passam por um processo de depura\u00e7\u00e3o.
